Onsite Preview Stays: What to Expect
An onsite preview is a short stay at a resort — usually one to three nights — offered at a reduced or no-cost rate in exchange for attending a vacation ownership sales presentation. It is the most common route through which new owners are introduced to a club.
How it works
You book the preview stay through the club or a promotional partner. On arrival you will be scheduled for a presentation, typically on your first or second day. The discounted stay is contingent on attending. Standard resort facilities are available throughout your stay.
What the presentation covers
The presentation introduces the club's ownership model, the points or weeks system, available resorts, and pricing. Sales staff will demonstrate how membership works and present a purchase offer. The offer is usually described as available for that day only — this is a standard sales technique.
You are free to say no
Attending an onsite preview does not commit you to purchasing. If you are not interested, you can decline and still enjoy the remainder of your subsidised stay, subject to the original terms. Some promoters attempt to make guests feel obligated; they are not.
After the presentation
If you are interested in the product, ask for a written copy of all terms, the full price breakdown, annual fee history, and your cooling-off rights before you sign anything. Never sign during the presentation under time pressure.
