Why Can't I Book? Common Availability Problems
Difficulty making reservations is one of the most common complaints among vacation ownership members. The reasons vary — and some are within your control. Here are the most frequent causes of booking problems and what you can do about them.
Your booking window hasn't opened yet
If you are trying to book more than your allowed advance period, the system will block the reservation. Confirm your booking window for the specific resort and room type you want, then set a reminder to book on the first eligible day.
Peak demand and limited inventory
School holidays, public holidays, and popular travel periods fill quickly at all resorts. Members with earlier booking windows secure inventory first. If you consistently cannot get your preferred dates, booking earlier in your window — or choosing adjacent periods — is the practical solution.
Points balance is insufficient
The point cost for a specific stay may be higher than your available balance after banking or partial use. Check the current point schedule for your intended stay before assuming availability is the issue. Consider banking points in advance for high-cost stays.
Account status issues
An account in arrears — including unpaid maintenance fees, late fees, or outstanding balances — may restrict your ability to make reservations. Contact your club's member services to confirm your account status if bookings are unexpectedly blocked.
Resort capacity or refurbishment
Clubs periodically remove inventory from the booking pool for refurbishment, maintenance, or capacity management. These periods are usually communicated to members in advance. Check your club's member communications or website for any affected inventory.
